WHO WE ARE AND WHERE WE CAME FROM

Newbiggin Car Care
Newbiggin Car Care (1990).

In 1990, an autoparts shop opened at Newbiggin-By-The-Sea called Newbiggin Car Care. Ran by a 20 year old Graeme Smith and his late father John Thomas Smith, with an initial investment of £1,200 it ran for 24 months until a national competition held by ADS took place and in 1992, Graeme and John won £30,000 worth of computers and automotive software.

In 1995, the business expanded and became Car Care Trade Warehouse LTD on North Seaton Industry Estate, using the new computers and software to run a much larger and more established business with multiple vans on the road delivering car parts all over Northumberland. Car Care Trade Warehouse went on for the next five years until Graeme and John decided to become more streamline and relocate the business to a more populated area.

In 2020, John grew ill and sadly passed away. But Graeme knew John would want the shop to keep running. Since the shop was named after John (JTS = John Thomas Smith) it was rebranded to GTS when Graeme partnered with a Tommy McMillan, and the shop has been running ever since. Still located on Milburn Road.
